We got our strawberries planted today.  Cal is such a hands-on helper.  She scooped the dirt, packed it, watered it, hung suet cakes for the birds, filled the feeders, watered all the plants (and herself), hammered nails into the tree for no apparent reason.  We’re hoping to get our vegetable garden tilled up this weekend…and she’s gonna go buck wild when we start planting.  She’s ready to go…we’ve been reading garden books from the library and talking about what animals we’ll have to run out of town.  Namely squirrels.  A scarecrow with a mallet may be necessary. 

I wonder….can I have an egg-laying hen within city limits?
