Coloring: Therapy?
Coloring soothes me. It always has. Here lately my daughter has gotten a tad stingy with the coloring books and crayons…so I swiped this page last night and colored it after she went to bed. Ooohhh….and some of the crayons still had their new points. Is it abnormal for my heart-rate to climb when coloring with brand new crayons? After the initial thrill of the newly sharpened crayon tip wears off…..my mind goes blank, my stress level dissolves into nothing-ness and for about five minutes the weight of being an adult is lifted and replaced by an almost euphoric sense of calm.
I wonder if the makers of Valium wouldn’t be better off prescribing a box of new crayons and a coloring book?
