Hubby’s Surgery
My postings may be a bit scarce for the next few days while my husband recovers from surgery on Friday. Keep him in your thoughts and prayers that he’ll make a full and speedy recovery.

I added cap sleeves to Cali’s shirt that I made yesterday. It was a bit tight under her arms, so I just openend it up and added the sleeve…..which she declared, “Much bettew Mommy.”
I made this shirt this morning for Cali…..she totally digs it. Obviously. It’s made from vintage sheets…and the bottom of the dress is actually the finished edge of the sheet….so no hemming!
I had an extremely interesting experience over the weekend. I ’stumbled’ upon a little holistic shop…one I’d never seen before. I’d been looking for a crystal, so I thought I’d pop in to see if they had any. An older woman….the owner….was the only one there. When I walked through the door, she greeted me by [...]
Today I’m placing the ad in the paper for Free Kittens. I’m gonna miss ‘em. But here in the past couple of days, they’ve gone buck wild. I’ve got enough on my hands trying to potty train the human….I sure don’t need stinky little kittens on top of THAT.
On a side note, the potty training [...]
I felt the strong and urgent need this morning to post this blog about the intense and unconditional love I have for my daughter. Sure, she’s going thru the “Curious Two’s”……and there are times when her Daddy and I just look at each other with helplessness. But this morning…I don’t know….there was just something about [...]
It was one of those quiet weekends. The best kind. Cali was in her Old-Film-Diva alter ego on Saturday:
On Sunday…she rested. Sort of:
Got this done over the weekend. I absolutely adore this fabric. It’s so……breathable. For lack of another word. Not to mention fragile. So fragile, in fact, that I had to get creative with the arm and neck holes. I just sewed a decorative edge and left the edges raw.
Onward!
We hung these Bougenvelias out front yesterday…..and I think they’re now my fave flower. I love their “Japanese” feel. Don’t mind me….I’ll be out front staring at my hanging planters.
I found such a phenominal stash of vintage fabric today that I’m beside myself with giddiness. There’s TONS more than what’s pictured. And I didn’t pay more than $20 for the lot of it. Now I can get ta crackin’ on our summer wardrobe!
