Interruptions

I suppose I could write several paragraphs paying homage to the man who dedicated his life to fighting for Peace and Equality.  But today I’ve decided to highlight a small note that was found by Martin Luther King’s aides after his murder.  He had hurriedly written it on a note and shoved it into his briefcase….perhaps for a future sermon…or maybe just a passing thought.  I am convinced that those who are here with a message from God….tend to have an “awareness” that others may not be in tune to.  I believe King was fully aware of what would eventually happen to him.  In spite of that knowledge, he faced fear and continued to preach his ordained message.

So it was almost fitting that this note was found after his death.  For me, it sums up his entire life.  And it’s a message that I’ve taken to MY heart.  Because after all……isn’t our finest glory in how we handle life’s interruptions?

The major problem of life is learning how to handle the costly interruptions — the door that slams shut, the plan that got sidetracked, the marriage that failed, or that lovely poem that didn’t get written because someone knocked on the door.” ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.
